Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
This policy explains what the game Grandpa Runs Sidewalk Splat (the "game") collects and why. "We" means the developer of the game. Questions or requests: twocrazymojo@yahoo.com.
The short version
- You can play without an account and without sharing anything.
- If you choose Share Analytics, the game sends gameplay data to help us improve difficulty and performance. It includes a random ID created for your installation, never your name. You can stop at any time.
- If you buy shards, Apple handles the payment. We keep a record of the purchase so your shards are credited exactly once.
- No ads, no advertising or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Gameplay analytics (optional)
The first time you open the game it asks whether to share gameplay analytics. Nothing is collected before you choose, and nothing is collected if you choose No Thanks. You can change your choice at any time in User Settings on the title screen (Share Gameplay Analytics). The game plays exactly the same either way.
If you share analytics, the game sends:
- how you play: when a session or level starts and ends, results and times, where and how you were hit, checkpoints and retries, how far you got, the shop screens you opened and the outfits you looked at, bought with shards or wore, and shards earned;
- how the game runs: frame-rate summaries;
- about the device: the device category (phone or tablet), the screen size, the app version and build, the iOS version and the device model (for example "iPhone15,2");
- a random analytics ID created for this installation. It is not your Apple Account, not an advertising identifier, and not the ID used for purchases.
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, microphone or anything you type. Your IP address is used only briefly, as a salted one-way hash, to limit abuse; it is not stored with your data.
Where it goes: our own database, hosted for us by Supabase in Canada. It is used only to understand and improve the game, and is not shared with anyone else. How long: raw gameplay data is deleted after 400 days; summary reports that cannot identify you may be kept longer.
Stop and delete: turn Share Gameplay Analytics off in User Settings. Collection stops, and the analytics ID and any unsent data are deleted from your device. To delete data already sent, note the Analytics ID shown in User Settings before you turn sharing off, and email it to us; we will delete it.
Purchases (100 Poop Shards)
Payments are processed by Apple; we never see your card or Apple Account details. To credit your shards exactly once and keep your balance, our wallet server keeps: Apple's transaction ID, the product, the purchase date, the environment (test or real), a random wallet ID created on your device (also sent to Apple with the purchase), a one-way hash of a random device secret, your shard balance and what you spent bought shards on. Apple may notify us of refunds; we record them. This is needed for purchases to work, so it is not optional. It is kept in the same Supabase database in Canada, separately from analytics, and is never used for analytics or advertising. We keep purchase records for as long as the game offers purchases and as long as needed for our accounting and tax obligations. Bought shards do not expire.
Data stored only on your device
Your progress, best times, medals, earned shards, costumes, settings and your analytics choice are stored on your device, in the game's own storage. Deleting the game deletes them.
Children
The game is made for a general audience. It is not designed for or directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Analytics are off unless Share Analytics is chosen and never include a name or contact details. If you believe a child has shared analytics, email us the Analytics ID and we will delete that data. Purchases can be blocked with Screen Time.
Your choices and requests
You can stop analytics at any time in User Settings. To ask what data we hold about your installation, or to have it deleted, email us with your Analytics ID (for analytics) or the date of your purchase and Apple's order ID (for purchase records).
Changes
We will post any changes on this page with a new date.
